The Textured Yarn Association of America, also known as TYAA,  celebrated 1997 its 25th anniversary. It was founded 1972 by Norman Cohen and a number of persons devoted to the quickly expanding texturing business.

The TYAA meets twice annually for a winter and a summer conference. The summer conference has been traditionally held at the Hilton Hotel, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The winter conference is alternatively held in Greensboro or Charlotte, North Carolina.  For more details visit the TYAA web site.

The association has a devoted membership of leaders in the texturing industry. But also texturing machinery producers, synthetic fiber manufacturers and other suppliers form a very important and supportive part of this association.

TYAA has active Technical Committees, who are involved in the standardization process and in finding solutions to common problems.

A picture of all the past and present presidents of the association attending the 25th anniversary conference was taken by Marjorie T. Richardson, Editor-in-Chief,  Online Textile News and is published here with her consent.
